The books are by writer and author Craig Lock.
THE END OF THE LINE is a short novel set in South Africa, which is "based on fact in the dark days of grand apartheid, but with the rich promise and hope that a new South Africa can bring."
"The story has a main theme of hope and reconciliation and the message is a universal one- to put the past behind you, but never to forget it. To use the lessons of history to make a better future.
Other messages in the book are
respect, tolerance towards other peoples, spiritual
reconciliation and reaching out to everyone."
"This book is dedicated to the diverse peoples of South Africa who one
day will live in harmony, peace and prosperity in that
beautiful country, in spite of their great differences and
the divisions of the past," writes Mr Lock in his note to the book.
An introductory look at the
concepts of success, motivation, attitude,
goal setting and stress. Ideas and principles that provide a foundation
for high achievement.
HANDBOOK is written in a simple style to help the
'everyperson' make the most of themselves and their lives easier. It
takes an introductory look at what motivates us and how to set goals...
to find
our true purpose for being on this planet. Also how to handle the
stresses life throws at us.
"Craig Lock uses simple to
understand principles and exercises which will immediately enhance the
quality of your life. I find the concepts in this book useful in my own
life."

The next book to be published
is a travelogue in the Bill Bryson vein entitled 'HERE, THERE, AND
EVERYWHERE'. It describes his adventures while travelling
around Europe over twenty years ago.
When he found that his books were not getting into the bookshops as
quickly as he would have liked, Mr Lock also got involved in
the promotional work. "I now actually prefer the marketing of the books
to writing them. It's fun meeting people, as well as a change from the
routine of writing."
"I went to South Africa for six weeks, because my father was seriously
ill and while there I think I may have found a new literary agent (who
is also Wilbur Smith's agent), as well as organising a distributor who
is arranging distribution of my books in South Africa."
Mr Lock misses his beloved South Africa, but has enjoyed living in
Gisborne since moving here many years ago with his wife, who was
originally from Gisborne. "The peacefulness and tranquility here has
been great for writing - when we had a house at Makorori beach I found
that especially inspirational.
"If anyone is interested in writing, I could perhaps help
them get started. I believe everyone has got a story in them
...to tell sometime, somewhere."
# DROPPED OUT IN GODZONE (being published by Minerva Press,UK)
A tale of our first four years
in a New Zealand provincial town, with many humorous incidents. Story
of my life!
# THE NEW RAINBOW (being published by Minerva Press,UK)
My second novel on South Africa . Moving tales of a number of characters from diverse South African life. A good and realistic plot, which builds up to a dramatic climax at the time of the Democratic Election in 1994.
# QUOTE UNQUOTE
A collection of quotations which have inspired me in my quest, together with many personal anecdotes.
# ANGOLAN DAWN
A moving novel on Angola as seen through the eyes of a hospital orderly during the war. There is also a true story of a migrant miner in South Africa which blends into the story. I feel this is my best novel.
Chatto and Windus (UK) called
it a 'compelling novel'.
